Player Code of Conduct

One of our core principles of respect for the game. We expect our players to conduct themselves in a respectful manner both on and off the field. Below is a list of our code of conduct for all players within our club.

Be on time and ready to play.

Practice times that are listed on the schedule are a “Ready to Play” time.  That means that you need to arrive before the published start time in order to put on your equipment and any warm-ups that are needed.

Respect your coaches

We prefer that you address any Pirate LC coach as “Coach” and that you listen to and try what our coaches are instructing.  If you feel that your instruction is not correct or is something that you do feel that you can do, have a respectful conversation with your coach.

Respect your teammates and opponents.

Any harassment or violence towards another teammate or player from another team will not be tolerated

Respect the officials

Expect bad calls are going to be made and move on to the next play.  Let the coaches handle the officials.

Respect all staff at practices and tournaments.

This includes all of the people working tables, vendors at tournaments, tournament staff and any other person associated with the practice or tournament.

Leave any facility that we use in equal or better condition than when we arrived.

Pickup your bottles and trash at practice facilities, tournament sidelines, and any common area such as the team tent area.

Communicate changes in your schedule.

If you cannot make or are going to be late to a practice or game, please inform your coach as soon as possible.  At a minimum, try to let your coach know 24 hours before a practice and 72 hours before a tournament game if you are going to be a no show.

No conduct penalties

Conduct penalties can arise from playing in a dangerous manner, pushing or fighting with another player, or using foul language on the field.  Conduct penalties put our team at a disadvantage by having players serve penalties and in some cases break rule #3 above.

No drugs or alcohol.

The presence of drug or alcohol at practice or tournament games will not be tolerated.  This applies to the hotel or stay if the tournament is requiring an overnight stay.

Represent Pirate Lacrosse Club.

As a member of our club, you represent us outside of the time you are practicing or playing with us.  Keep you social media content clean and free of any disparaging comments about players, opponents, officials, or other involved.
